“id personally always considered it the Rose Bowl of skateboarding contest…” Tampa is an AMAZING contest but have you heard of Street League?? Street League is new and its the biggest contest series in skateboarding, featuring the top pros with a new scoring system that allows for strategic skating! No more timed runs!It is as exciting as it gets! All three stops in 2010 came down to buzzer beater endings with everybody on the edge of their seats!! $150,000 to the winner of each stop making it the biggest prize purse in skateboard history! Forget about the X Games, forget about the Dew Tour, Street League is the future! Tampa Pro along with Thrasher Bust or Bail are the only other legitimate contests allowing for real, hardcore skating to go down, but still I feel that it doesn’t even come close to Street League!! who really cares how a skaters “career” is doing? talk about the jock mentality taking over the skateboard world. every single one of the skaters who won the tampa pro are light years better than the author or friggin clyde singleton of all people who has basically maintained his spotlight status by having his big mouth act as a back drop against his drooping skate “career”. this shit is pathetic… not sure who you guys hang out with but if this sort of talk was going on with people i skate with you would earn barney status in an instant. really…

yeah im not sure it ruins your career, but just to clear some things up, i heard of nathan smith back as soon as he won this comp when he was in some old logic videos, he killed it, and nyjah now rides for a company i and i, so does anthony williams, and also cody mcentire is the best skater in my books these days, along with decenzo, and this years winner luan, blew up so quick by the time everyone found out who he was he already won, no one knew who that guy was until he won this, i can remember everyone thinking who is this kid owning in skate or dice? Anyway i think that tampa am is irrelevant to how your skating career ends up besides getting noticed early if you enter it or win it.

Just saw Nathan Smith practicing at a local skate park up North…he’s still got it. He said he was touring for awhile then was teaching kids. He has just recently returned to back to roots in Nashville to continue what he loves.
