If this happened it would be the death of skating. It would lose its recreational purpose, and skaters would stop skating for themselves. Skate because you love it.

just browsing google and found this even though i'm a few years too late but... it wouldn't be such a bad idea to have skateboarding in the Olympics IF and ONLY IF we as skateboarders stay close as a community and not let what 'S to the B' said above me about not letting the skate industry get more industrialized or corporatized(if that's even a word) than it already is.

if there were only a way we could keep things the same and still let the world enjoy skateboarding for their viewing pleasure.

thinking about respect for skateboarders from the outsiders...this is a question that just came to mind but if we all started receiving more respect and nothing changed with our industry, then would newer generations of skateboarders keep skateboarding an individual activity which we can share with all friends and family or would they change some or all aspects of it to benefit our newfound respect...even though many of us elder dudes would still try to keep skateboarding "real" (i put quotes around real because this can mean many different things to different people)

you gotta wonder.

no... honestly I think taking this to the olympics is gonna be terrible, skating is going to become so industrialized. Anybody here snowboard? look at whats happened to it over the last decade... yea, that's skatings future if this starts getting spewed over the masses through global television.

I have a student film I produced for a multimedia course at CSU Northridge. I am a graduating senior, and part of my assignment is to submit my link to blogs pertaining to my films subject. My film is called "Skate of the Art" and it is a trailer for the full length film I plan to do next year. take a look if you'd like and thank you for your blogging.

I was a law-abiding Eagle Scout, but I don't buy anything. I get blank decks from my friend who screens shop decks. But if I were to buy something, it'd probably be REAL, Girl/Chocolate, Zero/Mystery, Alien/Habitat, Flip, or Baker. To me those are the more legit companies around.

If skateboarders were to become law-abiding eagle scouts, what brand would they buy?
