Worst skateboard shop experience ever.

Have you ever had a bad experience at a skate shop? Probably one of those mall stores, right? Or was it a local independent at the strip mall? Or maybe it was an online skate shop that never sent you the goods you ordered. Whatever the case, if you’ve had a bad experience with a skate shop let us know about it here. Not just to rant and point fingers, but let us know what exactly it was that they did wrong so that those who run skateshops can learn from it and make their shops better.

    1. At Emage. Don;t typically go here but I got a gift card for my birthday. Spent all but a 1.50 and they wouldn’t give me the change. They didn’t even have anything for a 1.50. Never go there again.
    2. Local shops. be nice. be very nice. overly nice. it is too easy to put people off. went in with a friend once and asked to use a skate tool. he had another shops board so they wouldn’t let him use it. that is @#$##. they lost mine and his business that day. if you piss off everyone who shops at the competition, they will just keep going to the competition.

720 Boardshop in Parker, Colorado. It’s some tool who must have won the lottery and decided to open a skateboard shop to try to get girls. Totally weak, like Pacific Sunwear with even less stuff. No one on staff skates and nobody knows anything about skateboarding. Rude and lifeless people. Terrible selection and you really are better off shopping with an on-line store because you’ll at least get better prices.

When people post bad experiences It helps us local sk8 shops learn from others mess ups. We here at Impact Skateboards never turn away a kid because they dont buy from us or if they need to use our tool or need a glass of water. We are here for the customers and being a small local shop and not like a major mall store we have to be alot alot alot ALOT nicer to our customers and make sure they are not fealing like they got sold something they did not need nor want. We make sure that they understand every product they are putting on their board. We may not be as cheep as the big mall stores but we well make up for it when it comes in customer service. If a kid came into our store and he was 1.00-5.00 short on there board we would not turn them away we would eather say pay us next time or say don’t worry about it. We are not here to be the next millionaire we are here for YOU! Thats how all of the other sk8 shops should be too

IWS in North Miami Beach. I went in there and I wanted to buy a set of wheels. I wanted to see the best they had to offer. As I got my eyes on the wheels they had, the spokesperson said “Starting from the right side are the least expensive, and as you follow to the left, they more expensive due to color and company. COLOR??? Why in the world would color make a difference in the price of a wheel. It’s just dye they use. The moment the spokesperson said that, I knew this guy had no idea about skateboarding. Company, I cant understand. Nike appreciates their value due to their name and reputation. But color? the guys trippin’

Park Side skate shop in columbia, Missouri. These people really got their shit together. i walk in to get a board after i broke mine and the guy shows me the selection of blank decks they had and i choose one for about $30, not bad, the best part was when he offered to put my trucks from my broken deck onto my new board AND he noticed a set of my bearings had been worn so he gave me some extras he had. Also he gave me some new hardware while i was fidgeting with my wallet trying to count my money he just charges me for the new deck. This is the kind of skate shop owners we need instead of the damn ignorant mall chain owners on their get rich quick skeems, do local stores a favor and dont buy from mall stores. they couldnt tell you the difference between the nose and tail of the board.

I have skated for over 20 years and worked in multiple shops. I work for 720 Boardshop and have never been happier due to the fact that our focus is PURELY FOCUSED ON OUR CUSTOMERS!!! I skate everyday and so do the people who work here. we have a skate snow and young groms team to support the future of skateboarding unlike other places where you cant get help in or out of the store.
BETTER KNOW YOUR SHIT! were the future and so is our team!!

Recently dealt with Modern skate shop out of Michigan. Ordered an item that was in stock and then days later I get an email telling me how its out of stock and they can’t do anything about it. And when I called to get an explanation all I get is I’m sorry. They didn’t offer to try and get me the item or anything. Its the middle of december pretty bad timing…. I guess thats why ccs is so huge…..
