Utah’s own Tyson Bowerbank, a nice young chap I’ve skated with several times and who is better than both you and I combined, won the King of the Groms contest at Minnesota’s world-renowned 3rd Lair skatepark.
3rd Lair guys, please get a better website. Let me know if want to do some trade work. I’ll hook you up if you hook me up with some product.
Final results – Notice that Tyson won on both street and mini-ramp, not to mention a respectable 5th in the bowl.
Check out the video footy too. And bear in mind not a single one of these kids has hit puberty yet. Just imagine what they’ll be doing 10 years from now when they’re all of 20 years old. It’s a good thing skating is fun or I’d quit right now.

Dyet stopped by the shop and we talked about Tyson, it was mentioned that he has a bright future with Darkstar and Bones. I haven’t seen Tyson skate in person since 2007, but he took first place at Ogio on a rolled ankle and I could tell he was in a lot of pain and for some reason they don’t keep a first-aid kit at the indoor park (just saying), BYO I guess. This young man has heart and enough passion for skateboarding that he deserves to be hooked up. Keep an eye out for this guy in the years to come!
